Gamble

I took a gamble on blue eyes full of dreams and a golden heart,
There was a gut-feeling, in a good way, from the start.

I know they say don’t date potential,
But to ears in love, that advice is inconsequential.

Some people need faith in them to become the person they’ve always been,
Some people need a light- heart around to help them forgive themselves for their childhood sins.

Some people need the right kind of love to light their way,
Some people need to be reminded that there’s a fresh start each day.

Sometimes, only one person in the whole world can see what another can become,
And most times, it just takes that one person, to take all the doing and make it undone.

Love can light people on fire and set them free,
Love can shade another’s world from the harshness, just as a tree.

Deep love knows no boundaries and does not run shy of potential not met…yet,
Deep love can sense how good the going’s going to get.

I took a gamble on blue eyes full of dreams and a golden heart,
And I’m tangled up in a masterpiece of love that looks and feels a lot like art.
